THREAD INTRODUCTION
What are PDO and PLA thread?
PDO threads are made from Polydioxanone material and PLA threads are made from Poly Lactic Acid material which both are absorbable. The needle is inserted into the subcutaneous layer of the skin and when it is taken out, the threads remain implanted in the skin. Insertion of dozens of needles to the deeper layer of skin with absorbable threads activates their natural regenerative process and mechanical stimulation of wound healing and tissue contraction. PDO and PLA threads have been proven safe and the basic difference of these threads is the lasting-effect. PDO threads can last approximately 6 months while PLA threads can last up to 12 months according to the researches.
